{One Sunday Afternoon}

Sunday was a pretty busy day, full of trapshooting, checking cows, and other cow related business.

First thing on the list of to do's for Clayton and I to do is to go and check the cows and make sure everything is doing good. After checking the first pen we had to the second pen and what do we find? One of the cows (671) across the creek with her water sack hanging out. Good news, a calf is on the way! Clayton takes a look at her for and decides that we will give her an hour or so before we start to worry about her too much. So, we continue to on and check on the rest of the cows. Not much else is happening besides one of the yellow cows is by herself, but no action as far as we can tell.

{The Last of the Heifers}

I am super excited to announce that the last of the heifers calved today down on Zenner Ranch!

Also, spectacularly, not a single one of the heifers need to be pulled!

Although they are only a third of the way done with calving out all of the cows, it is great to know that the first years are on to a great start.

I will be posting some more pictures of my adventure today sometime soon, but I just couldn't wait to share the news with all of you!

{The Kindle Adventure}

For Christmas this year I received a Kindle Touch from my Grandpa, and in the month since then I have been desperately searching for a cute sleeve to protect my Kindle when it goes into my purse, bag, etc. Looking around my small town I did not find anything that I liked, so I decided to search Amazon to see if I could find a case that I liked. but nothing really stood out to me.

Then the other afternoon, when I should have been working on homework (kind of like right now), I decided to look on Etsy. I found tons of cute sleeve, the only problem now is that I can't decide on which one I want! I decide to show you all a few of the sleeves I liked.

{First Week Back}

This week I've been busy rocking and rolling with the spring semester of classes. With over a month break from school and only one and a half days of class last week, it takes a while to get back in the groove of school and work. Luckily I have adjusted well. The past week I have been busy doing homework every night for anywhere from 2 - 4 hours.

{A New Start}

Welcome to Sprinkles & Hay!

My name is Kayla. Welcome to my blog about the day in the life of a small town Idaho girl. I decided that it was time for me to get a start on one of my New Years resolutions, start a new blog that documents my life as I see it. As some of you may remember I started a baking blog last year, but did not keep up on it due to being overloaded with school and work and not having the time to do weekly baking. So this year I decided to give my self a new start! A brand new blog with brand new topics.

Why the name Sprinkles and Hay? Well, the blog is a mix of my everyday experiences, to my baking binges, and everything in between.

A little more about me? I am from a small farming community. My thirteen classmates and I graduated from high school in May 2009. I now attend Lewis-Clark State College and am majoring in Math Education {to become a teacher of math, yes MATH}. Between school and work I am quite busy, but I still make time bake, craft, and spend time with family and friends.

I look forward to sharing my baking experiences, quirky crafts, and daily stories with all of you.
