{The 10 Week Adventure}

Every year around Mid-January an epic 10 week adventure begins. Can anyone guess what adventure this is? I'll give you a hint, check out the picture below.

If you guessed trapshooting then you are 100% correct.

{Coeur'd Alene Resort}

This weekend the family and I went for a weekend of fun and relaxation in Spokane and Coeur'd Alene. The first night we stayed the night at Oxford Suites in the Spokane Valley and had a delicious dinner right there in the hotel. The second night we planned to stay at the Coeur'd Alene Resort, but when we go to the resort we had a great surprise.

They upgraded us to their Lake View rooms for free! The rooms were great and the view was amazing. Unfortunately this we Sunday afternoon and I could not stay the night due to school being in the morning.

I thought I would share a few pictures that I snapped before I had to leave.

{New Calf - #685}

While riding through the cows one weekend Clayton and I rode by a new born calf.

They are so cute when they are little. Now, onto other things. Here are some pictures from a recent Cow excursion!

{Donkey Basketball}

This weekend I went to a Donkey Basketball Game at Culdesac. It was so much fun to watch. If you have never seen a game before you should find one ASAP!

What makes the game fun to watch is that the donkeys are stubborn and do not want to cooperate at all. However, that does not stop the riders from hopping off their donkeys to attempt to drag them across the court to chase after a loose ball. The harder the rider pulls, the slower the donkey moves. The donkeys don't like to move any faster than a leisurely pace, unless they feel the need to do so.

It is fun to watch the rider get back on the donkey, then it take off running in the opposite direction that they want it to go. The donkeys were unpredictable, and just all together fun to watch.

The teams for this year's donkey basketball was students vs. faculty. It was exciting watch the competition of the students against their teachers in order to prove who is the mightiest of them all. I do believe, however, that the faculty prevailed this game.

{One Sunday Afternoon}

Sunday was a pretty busy day, full of trapshooting, checking cows, and other cow related business.

First thing on the list of to do's for Clayton and I to do is to go and check the cows and make sure everything is doing good. After checking the first pen we had to the second pen and what do we find? One of the cows (671) across the creek with her water sack hanging out. Good news, a calf is on the way! Clayton takes a look at her for and decides that we will give her an hour or so before we start to worry about her too much. So, we continue to on and check on the rest of the cows. Not much else is happening besides one of the yellow cows is by herself, but no action as far as we can tell.

{The Last of the Heifers}

I am super excited to announce that the last of the heifers calved today down on Zenner Ranch!

Also, spectacularly, not a single one of the heifers need to be pulled!

Although they are only a third of the way done with calving out all of the cows, it is great to know that the first years are on to a great start.

I will be posting some more pictures of my adventure today sometime soon, but I just couldn't wait to share the news with all of you!

{First Week Back}

This week I've been busy rocking and rolling with the spring semester of classes. With over a month break from school and only one and a half days of class last week, it takes a while to get back in the groove of school and work. Luckily I have adjusted well. The past week I have been busy doing homework every night for anywhere from 2 - 4 hours.
